If you have a keyed ignition, like a traditional car:
Turn the key to the "On" position. The engine should not be started
Turn the traction control to the "Off" position
Start engine


If you have the new keyless ignition:
Without pressing the brake pedal, tap the "Start" button twice. The engine should not be started.
Turn the traction control to the "Off" position
Press the brake pedal, then tap the "Start" button to start the engine.
